Join us for our March Carbon Neutral Coffee meetup in York!
We’re excited to welcome Ted Evgeniadis, Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper and Executive Director of the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association. In addition to being an educator and alliance builder, Ted is also an advocate and defender of the river’s right to be healthy and prosperous – which means he is also a defender of our community’s right to be healthy and prosperous.
Recently, Ted has been a leading force in addressing the oil spill caused by the J&K Salvage fire in York. The February 25th fire resulted in 10,000 gallons of various oils pouring into the soil and nearby Codorus Creek, and eventually making their way into the Susquehanna River, according to York Daily Record.
Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association has been collecting water samples, tracking pollutants, calling on state and federal agencies to take action, conducting a site inspection, and more. At Carbon Neutral Coffee, we’ll hear about their response efforts as well as learn about the organization, their work around local energy projects, and Ted’s vital role as Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper.
All are invited to this important conversation! While you might know Carbon Neutral Coffee as a business sustainability meetup, this session is relevant to all who rely on the Susquehanna River (a.k.a. all of us), and especially York County residents.
When & Where:
Tuesday, March 10, 2026 | 7:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. | The Grotto Community Center, 17 E. Philadelphia St., York, PA 17401

Ted Evgeniadis, Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper and Executive Director of the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association
Speaker Bio:
from Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper’s website:
Ted serves as the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper (LSR) and works as an alliance builder, diplomat, and educator, but also, when the situation calls for it, an unrelenting defender and advocate of our right and the river’s right to be healthy and prosperous. Ted utilizes education, chemical and biological monitoring, pollution patrols, partnership building, public events, research and legal action to improve the health of the Susquehanna’s waterways.
Ted assists the government by reporting non-compliance of the law, and follows through where environmental protection agencies are unable to do their job due to politics or funding issues.
