What’s Next for Clean Energy When Federal Support Disappears

Federal clean energy tax credits fueled historic investments after the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act in 2022. With the recent phaseout of key federal incentives, many clean energy projects are no longer financeable, and many developers are pulling back. What does it take to keep clean energy moving forward without federal support? This talk examines the policy tools states still control and how smart state action can drive renewable deployment and rein in rising energy costs on the path to carbon neutrality by 2050.

Speaker Bio:

Tim has two decades of experience in public policy. He previously worked as the Chief of Staff to MA State Senator Patricia Jehlen and as the senior policy and intergovernmental affairs staffer to the Mayor of Somerville, MA, Joe Curtatone. He currently serves as the VP, Public Policy & Government Affairs at The Alliance for Climate Transition (ACT), a Massachusetts-based clean energy trade association and mission-driven non-profit organization. ACT’s members include renewable energy developers and start-ups working to bring innovative climate tech solutions to market.
