The effects of climate change aren’t a challenge we can put off to deal with in the future; it’s an ongoing process that is impacting every part of our livelihood. It’s a global problem that requires local action.
In 2018, Lancaster County emitted 10.5 million Metric Tons of CO2 equivalent and spent $2.5 billion on fossil fuels. That’s equal to an ExtraGive every other day. We believe we can do better for our economy, the community, and the climate. By localizing climate solutions, we provide opportunities for people and communities to take action that creates a collective impact.
The projections for a bleak future are not inevitable and the possibility that we could solve and reverse climate change gives us hope.
