Event Details

Join us at this event, hosted by Lancaster Rec, Lancaster Bikes!, and the City of Lancaster!

Open Streets Lancaster temporarily closes the streets linking Mayor Janice C. Stork Corridor Park to Culliton Park (Water St. from Lemon St. to Conestoga St.) to motorized vehicles. Our Lancaster event joins more than 90 Open Streets initiatives in the United States and Canada.

Open Streets Lancaster is different than a block party or street fair. It is part of a broad effort to encourage physical activity, re-imagine the City as a place to walk and bike for transportation, help people meet and steward meaningful social connections.

Held in partnership with Lancaster City and the Lancaster Bikes program, Open Streets is a free family-friendly event that temporarily transforms Water Street into a pedestrian mall, with music, food, shopping and activities promoting physical wellbeing, civic pride and personal and community connections. People traffic replaces car traffic – and the streets become a paved playground where people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can come out and improve their physical and mental health.

In 2022, more than 8,000 community members attended Open Streets Lancaster. We hope you’ll join us this year and enjoy your City from a different perspective. The best part? It’s FREE to attend!
